SCORPION engines are highly processed and gives you an outstanding resilience, but they are although compact and light weight.
Scorpion Competition Series Brushless Motors are built from the best materials available, and are designed to provide both quality and
performance at an affordable price. Scorpion starts with high quality aluminum alloy parts that are produced on the latest CNC milling machines.
These parts are then gold Electro-Coated to provide a beautiful, long-lasting finish. The stators are made with 0.2mm laminations to give maximum
efficiency, and minimum Eddy current losses. The stators are epoxy coated to prevent shorts, and are wound with wire that is rated at 180 degrees C (356 F).
The magnets used in Scorpion Motors are custom manufactured to be able to withstand high temperatures, making a motor that is virtually impossible to burn up in normal use.
In addition a well defined internal cooling system helps to keep temperature down and efficency high. Cold air is suck into engine in the aft and leaves in front.
This gives you an advantage not only in a helicopter but although in boats, cars and planes and ease your colling effords.
The effectivness of SCORPION engines is about 85% to 90%. Top ratings for brushless outrunner engines an a benfit for cooling.
By comparing helicopter engines with direct-torque engines the power-to-weight-ratio is often much better. Even with a gear the weight is often equal or better with better power ratio.
And with the possibility to easily change gear-ratio (i.e. rpm-caracteristics) you get at least a unique drive-system, where other needs several engines to achieve same variety.
This gave you the opportunity to change between trainer-plane, bi-plane, towing-plane or 3-D aerobatics with only one drive-system.
And the changing between a 2-, 3- or 4-bladed airscrew ist as easy too.
